"Idol PreCure with You♪" (abbreviated as KimiPri) is the 22nd installment of the "PreCure Series" (the 20th generation Pretty Cure), and has been airing on TV Asahi since February 2, 2025. With the catchphrase "Sing, dance, and fan service? With you! Sparkle, run, run~♪," the show's overall motif is "idols," and its theme is "We can shine and become stronger because of you!" --- ### Concept and Story Intent: This work is characterized by the concept that the presence of "you," such as supportive fans and loved ones, makes the legendary saviors, the Idol PreCure, shine and become stronger. In addition to the "idol" element, the producers focused on the interaction between the supporters and the supported. ABC Animation producer Maito Nishimura explains that she aims for a "sparkle, run, run" production in which she can shine because of the support of "you," and that this sparkle isn't one-way; it's returned to "you," allowing them to shine together. Toei Animation producer Aki Murase resonates with PreCure as an ordinary middle school student struggling to make someone smile under the spotlight, and hopes that viewers will be able to "sparkle, run, run" along with the protagonist Uta. --- ### Characters and Story Development The story is set in Hanamichi Town. The protagonist, **Sakura Uta (Cure Idol)**, a second-year middle school student who loves singing, meets the fairy **Purirun**, who appears from a peach that has floated down the river. Purirun says that her hometown, Kiraki Land, was attacked by the Chokkiri Gang and plunged into darkness, so she has come to search for the legendary idol PreCure. During a battle with Chokkiri Gang executives, Uta awakens as a PreCure, marking the beginning of a legend. Later, Uta's live performance footage sparked buzz as the "mysterious new idol," leading to the formation of a "Cure Idol Research Club" at her junior high school. At the start of the new semester, Uta becomes classmates with the genius pianist Nana Aokaze (Cure Ink). The two reunite and grow closer after a childhood reunion. Seeing Uta confront the threat of the Chokkiri Gang, Nana awakens and becomes the second PreCure. Furthermore, legendary idol Kaito Hibiki visits Uta's cafe, and Tanakan appears as her manager, furthering her idol activities. Kokoro Murasaki (Cure Kyun Kyun), a first-year junior high school student who excels at dancing, is initially afraid of the PreCure, but awakens in her anger at the Chokkiri Gang for betraying their fans. A trio of Idol PreCure girls, each with their own special talents—Idol singing, Wink piano, and Kyun Kyun dance—are formed and make their CD debut under the group name "Idol PreCure." Under the guidance of Kirakiland's queen, Pikarine, the Idol PreCure girls battle Darkuine, the boss of the Chokkiri Gang, to restore the sparkle to Kirakiland and its residents. The story also sees the appearance of Meloron, a fairy who adores Prirun's older sister, adding to the excitement. --- ### PreCure Settings and Related Elements In this work, the PreCure girls are described as "legendary beings of Kirakiland" and transform using items and the call "PreCure! Light up!" Their true identities after transformation are initially kept secret, but are revealed to the main characters as the story progresses. The purification techniques used during battle incorporate the dance choreography from the insert song performed on stage, and this was done by Yurinasia, who also choreographed the ending theme song. The opening theme song is performed by Ishii Ami, Kumada Akane, and Yoshitake Chihaya, while the ending theme song is performed by the three voice actors of the PreCure characters, and stage music for each character is also prepared. The data broadcasting includes a PreCure search game and a remote control time display function, and after the preview for the next episode there is a mini corner called "Fan Service Lesson with You," which allows viewers to participate and liven up the show.
